Education:

Joeri Scholtens graduated with honour in the interdisciplinary bachelor of natural and social sciences with a specialization in Human Geography at the University of Amsterdam. He is currently enrolled in the Master Environment and Natural Resource Management at the VU University, Amsterdam.

 

Research interests:

Fisheries, sustainable development, interdisciplinarity.

 

Research and employment:

2008 - present: Co-ordinator new module and minor on Governance of Aquatic Resources and Environments.
2008- present: Curriculum developer with new Bachelor track Future Planet Studies.
2006 - 2008: Managing editor of the Journal Maritime Studies, at the Centre for Maritime Research.

2006 - present: Researcher and treasurer at Symbeyond Research Group.

2007 External evaluator of Cordaid's tsunami fisheries rehabilitation program, Sri Lanka

2007 Fieldworker of FAO funded research into the potential for fishing fleet reduction and its livelilood implications, Tamil Nadu, India. Joint research project with SIFFS, CESS and MARE.
